researching urbanity

Our team

(re)searching urbanity is an independent, volunteer-led collective based in Berlin. Since 2022, students and young professionals from architecture, urban planning, design, the humanities, and social sciences have come together to host symposiums and recurring open events exploring critical questions of urbanism at the intersection of research, art, and urban practice.

As a self-organized collective, we create open and accessible spaces for exchange, participation, and critical discussion. Our formats aim to engage diverse audiences, regardless of background or prior knowledge, and to make different perspectives on urbanism visible, tangible, and approachable. Our work is carried out voluntarily and independently, without sponsors or permanent funding. We are united by a shared interest in critical urban questions and by the belief that collaborative, self-organized practices can create meaningful spaces for dialogue, reflection, and collective engagement.
